Ateliers ’89 Foundation presents Dutch Artist Joris Kritis, as his new profesor for Graphic Design for the month of November, enroll now!

Kort wervend stukje:

Graphic design course

Participate in a short graphic design course that will initiate you in the basics of graphic design. We will learn about typography, image manipulation (although no photoshop course), sequencing, materiality and. Short, simple exercises will be given to create a ground for conversation and discussion. Next to that, each lesson will include a concise introduction to the history of graphic design, from a personal and contemporary viewpoint.

I want to have the lesson structured in a three-folded way: starting with an exercise,

afterwards a pin-up and discussion, and ending with a short historical overview or the showcase of particular pieces of graphic design connected with the assignment.

Joris Kritis (1983 BE) is a graphic designer living and working in Amsterdam and Brussels. After graduating from Werkplaats Typografie in 2010 he established a studio together with Julie Peeters and has since worked mainly in the culture field in Holland and Belgium. From 2009 to 2011 he was the designer and image editor for Dutch art magazine Metropolis M. Other notable clients include Canadian Centre for Architecture, Piet Zwart Institute, Flemish Architectural Institute, Office Kersten Geers David Van Severen, Bozar Architecture, Architecture Workroom Brussels, If I Can’t Dance …, TU Delft and Beursschouwburg. He was recently awarded the bronze medal in the Leipzig Best Book Design From All Over The World 2013 competition and also at the Prix Fernand Baudin in Belgium.
